The above is found only in the 'Complete Works of the Guru' published by Matrubhumi, commented by Dr. T. Bhaskaran. It is not found in the 'complete works' published by Sivagiri Mutt or the Language Institute.
Dr. T. Bhaskaran writes in his commentary, "Srikrishna was the Ishtadevata of the Guru while he was staying at Varanappally. Biographers of the Guru record that he had a vision of Sri Krishna in those days. It seems the Guru immortalized that vision by composing the above verse in Sardulavikreeditam".

I think this was written by guru, when he got the frist darshan for Krishna.

It is there in page 161 of sree narayanaguru sampoornakrithikal published by vidyarambham publications, Alappuzha.In the biography of guru ,it says ,during his stay at Varanappalli Guru talk about Balakrishanan (means Sree Krishna)

Exactly, while studying there the incident happen, while seeing guru krishna jumped into a well,guru also jumped on the back, from there he wrote the srikrishna darshnam. dont know this story is correct or not.
